Skincare is so crucial. It’s important to know how to hydrate and treat your skin properly, especially now during weather changes. I’m breaking down some new products currently on the market that work for me.
First, let’s start with these Acne Dots from Peter Thomas Roth. You know when you get that one unwanted blemish that you just can’t seem to get rid of? Well, finally this might be a cure for you. These little dots are simple.
Directions/About: Place invisible dot on affected area and leave for up to 8 hours.
These clear patches help to eliminate blemishes as they contain the affected area to minimize the spread of bacteria. With two different size options, it allows complete coverage using 0.5% Salicylic Acid to effectively reduce and heal the blemish. The Tea Tree Oil in the product is used to clarify and refresh the skin and also prevents the spread of bacteria. This product also uses Hyaluronic Acid which helps to hydrate the skin which will prevent irritation.
Reality: I’ve been using these little guys for about two weeks now and they seem to really do the trick! Typically, I place them on before bed however, they also work on a relaxed day when I’m lazy around my apartment. It took about 3 nights of useage for my blemish to completely fade away, but you definitely notice a difference after 1 use.
They seem work for my boyfriend as well! Although I notice his blemish disappearing more after just the first use! The only problem he has with them is that he always forgets to take them off, haha! Remember guys, they are pretty invisible so don’t forget to remove them in the morning!
Another product I’ve been obsessing over also happens to be by Peter Thomas Roth. I first saw this product in Nylon Magazine and wanted to try it out.
Directions/About: The ultimate refreshing fruit, strawberries have been traditionally used as face masks to lighten the complexion and tone the skin. Strawberry Fresh Cells, specially extracted and microcapsulated for ultimate nutrient delivery and performance, work to moisturize, tone and purify skin. Strawberry Puree consists of the skin, pulp, juice and seeds of the strawberry fruit and is high in vitamin C, anti-aging ellagic acid, polyphenols and two nutritive minerals – manganese and potassium. Strawberry Enzyme helps improve problem skin and provides a brighter complexion to effectively nourish the skin for a revitalized appearance. Finely Ground Almonds gently exfoliate dead surface skin cells leaving skin soft and smooth.
Reality: As you can tell from the picture above, I REALLY love this product! It’s smells SO good – almost like a strawberry smoothie! It’s not a tough scrub which is what I love about the product (especially since it’s going on my face). It’s gentle yet, leaves my skin feeling refreshed, bright, and clean. I’ve been using this scrub at night at least 2-3 times a week. Since we’re going into cooler weather, it’s important that my skin doesn’t dull out. The strawberry scrub has been keeping it bright and radiant.
Last but not least, this coffee scrub from Frank Body.
Warning: Prepare to get dirty with Frank.
Directions/About: The special blend of natural ingredients such as: roasted and ground robusta coffee beans, sweet almond oil, vitamin e, and sea salt will scrub away dry, flaky, skin and target skin conditions like cellulite, stretch marks, eczema, and psoriasis.
Reality: The coffee scrub scents I received from Frank were the original, peppermint, coconut, and cacao. Coconut probably being my scent favorite thus far.
I’ve only been using Frank’s scrub for two weeks and I haven’t noticed a difference other than the fact that my skin is feeling softer than ever. You’re going to want to apply the scrub while in the tub because it can get very messy!
