Of course we’ve all heard the word “basic” in a negative connotation, but is dressing in basics necessarily a bad thing?! I’ve teamed up with Old Navy to show you guys not only the new tees they have to offer featuring their new flattering silhouettes and fabrics, but also my tips and tricks on making your basics stand out! The re-design of the Old Navy tee is flawless. Between the soft cotton fabrics, durable fit and pre-struck wash for extra softness, you’d think that for such a high-quailty tee it wouldn’t be affordable. Nope! You can snag these tees which range anywhere from $9-$20!
Tips & Tricks:
1. Dive Into Details
Whenever I go for a basic, I like for it to have that extra style factor. I love this baseball tee because of the little patch pocket which matches the color of the 3/4 length sleeves. These are little details that already make the tee feel that much more special.
2. Tuck It In
Don’t just throw on your tee’s, let them drape! Tucking in the front of your tee changes everything. One of the reasons is that you get to show off the detail of your pants. In my case this being drawstring detail, which I find quite cool and relaxing. Another reason being is that it shows off your shape that would usually be hidden if just thrown on. So remember, tuck it in!
I live for a good set! Even though this isn’t one, I decided to create my own! With the pocket on the tee matching the sleeves which match the pants, it seems like these two separate pieces were meant for each other. There’s nothing I love more than when two become one.
The next time you’re styling your Old Navy basics, think of these short tips and tricks!
