Happy (3rd day of) spring! With the light snowfall we received Sunday night, it’s not feeling quite springy here in New York but we’ve gotten a couple warm days. Spring is my 2nd favorite season — especially here in the city. Buds are blooming, birds are chirping, the sun is finally out, and the city comes alive again! It’s the time when you trade out your chunky knit sweaters for the lightweight silk linen ones. I’ve packed away most of those heavy pieces to show you how to style my favorite staples from Banana Republic.
My first pick for this season from Banana has to be this silk linen pullover. Made with 55% silk and 45% linen it makes the perfect sweater to layer under or over for those chiller spring nights. Now that spring as officially sprung, it makes sense to welcome bolder and brighter colors in my wardrobe. This new vermillion colors does just that. I’m also a fan of cerulean blue and gold color that BR also offers.
Of course I wear my jeans all year-round but sometimes switching to a pant less form fitting feels just right for warmer weather. I’m 99.9% sure these cotton/linen blend dress pants are meant to be worn with a loafer but what’s the fun in following the rules?! This spring season I’m sticking with comfort. That means sneakers it is!
What’s your go to staples for spring?
